After a varied life living and working in Africa and the Far East I came home. I worked with a number of companies before Istarted my own business in 1982
representing a French company. I speak fluent French. My work involved travelling round the UK which enabled me to research both my own and my wifes ancestry during visits to family
landmarks and record offices from Aberdeen to Penzance.
My grandfather (opposite) left Aberdeen for Paris in 1916 and I have done some research in France and his trail lead to the famous Père la Chaise cemetry in Paris where he is buried.
My wife's family history is split between Lancashire and Cornwall. Her family originated in Coverack where her ancestors, the Corlyon brothers, were famous smugglers.
I started to research other peoples family histories about 10 years ago and have worked for solicitors and a variety of families.
I live near to the Smerset Record Office and the Devon Record Office is within easy reach and The Cornwall Record Office can be visited in a day.
